“Climbing to the Moon is a dangerous adventure.  Jane Schneeloch’s collection of poems inspired by the art of Georgia O’Keeffe invites the reader to “…stand at the edge, toes curled over the picture frame.” And to ask there, with the poet, “If I fall into the folds of this mystery,/ will I be able to climb back out/ clutching a piece of honesty?” These poems do not try to explain O‘Keeffe; rather, they reflect the intense honesty of the paintings, and respond with the honesty of the poet.  Schneeloch gives us a dialogue between one art form and another, in poems that are spare, as clean as bleached bones, as honest and brave as the paintings they celebrate.”
